She is easy to be around, carries herself with quiet maturity, and has a particular love for poetry. She recites poems with confidence and joy, a gift that speaks to the depth of her character.
How She Came to Rock of Ages
Nyambura’s journey to Rock of Ages came through the local chief and community members who were deeply concerned about her welfare. She had been living with her elderly grandfather, struggling under conditions that no child should face. Her mother’s whereabouts are unknown, leaving her grandfather as her only family and caregiver, a situation that was simply not sustainable for a young child with so much potential.
When she was welcomed into Rock of Ages, the community celebrated. They knew she had found not just shelter, but a home.
What She Needed
When Nyambura first arrived, her needs were urgent. She needed proper clothing, consistent nutrition, and urgent medical attention. Her health had been significantly neglected, and getting her stable and well became the immediate priority.
